Art Expression as a Tool for Understanding Children and Youth with Conduct Disorders

Annotation Dissertation thesis entitled Art Expression as a Tool for Understanding Children and Youth with Conduct Disorders is divided into the theoretical and research part. The first part of the thesis includes concepts related to the problematic behaviour in children and adolescents, theoretical information related to art creation, drawing expression, artefact symbols and art-therapy. The content of the second part of the dissertation thesis is mixed research, whereby the objectives and methods are directed towards learning the creative processes and the resulting products of clients with compulsory institutional education. The research questions and hypotheses are focused on the client's attitude towards drawing, their drawing methods and they are formulated in a way that allows to identify and explore the content of the client's drawing expressions, i.e. drawing signs, strokes, pressure, tempo, symbols and reflection of their mental state, memories, experiences, desires and values. In the research, the importance is attached to the following aspects that significantly influence the client’s creation process: situation before creation, adequate motivation and concentration, relations between educators and clients, approach of educators to clients.
