Annotation The publication is summarising the current knowledge of the lifestyle of children and schoolchildren in the Czech Republic. Valuable insights and data are based on the results of international research studies HBSC-Health Behaviour in School-aged Children. The publication describes specific areas of behaviour that have a significant relationship to the physical and mental health of children and youth, in particular in the field of catering and movement habits, smoking, drinking alcohol, accidents, use of leisure time, the satisfaction, etc. All of these, but also other determinants are related to the social environment of the family and the school. Knowledge and data are used not only to monitor the current state of the lifestyles of children and youth, but they contribute to strategic decision making in the creation of strategies, policies and prevention programs aimed at children.
