The state of the Czech family, what protects and threatens it

Annotation	The aim of the research carried out within the project Primary Prevention of Family Threats was to map the situation in Czech families with at least one child under 12 years of age in the Czech Republic so that it is possible to identify factors of family environment that lead to family risk situations and identify protective factors. The quantitative research focused on mapping the life and financial situation of families, their activities, opinions and attitudes, subjectively perceived threats, defining situations that endanger the family, and identifying the knowledge of professional help and possibilities of its use. The target group of the research were families with at least one child under 12 years of age. In the first stage of the research, a sample of families from the general population was interviewed. The data were collected from September 2014 to January 2015 and a total of 5 002 respondents were asked. In the second stage, endangered families in the care of non-profit organizations were interviewed. Data were collected from December 2014 to November 2015 and a total of 1,421 respondents were asked.
